The Melting Pot Restaurants announced plans to introduce NorthStar Order Entry, the innovative tablet-based omni-channel ordering system developed by Custom Business Solutions (CBS), in all of its more than 125 U.S. restaurants, as well as some international locations.
The announcement follows a test phase in several company-owned and franchised locations where use of the cloud-based POS tablet software system from CBS yielded immediate improvements in guest satisfaction, service and operational efficiencies, according to Mike Lester, president of The Melting Pot.
“By December 2017 we intend to have NorthStar Order Entry 100 percent implemented across all Melting Pot locations system wide,” Lester says.
Tablet-based ordering technology is providing restaurant chains like The Melting Pot with new solutions to improve how they operate and compete. “In our case, after careful review of many systems, we chose NorthStar Order Entry because it met a long list of attributes that we see as important as we continue to grow,” Lester says.
He cited among those attributes provided by CBS and its NorthStar Order Entry: CBS’s restaurant/hospitality experience and iOS familiarity; NorthStar’s robust cloud-based system; ease of server and staff training; the opportunity for future integration and customization; increased data security and Payment Card Industry compliance; data redundancy; improved customer service; and better real-time data management.
“Clearly, CBS’s NorthStar Order Entry had the most checks in the yes column of our list,” Lester says.
Art Julian, founder and CEO of CBS, says, “We’re pleased to have been chosen by The Melting Pot as a partner in their strategy for success.”
